According to a Bristol, CT Mazda dealer, Mazda will soon make the U.S. debut of its latest powertrain technology. The SKYACTIV engine and transmission technologies will be featured in the North American debut of its MINAGI Concept and the refreshed 2012 Mazda3 at the New York International Auto Show.

SKYACTIV is a suite of technologies, including diesel and gasoline engines, transmissions, and new chassis and body components. All SKYATIV components are aimed at reducing vehicle weight and improving performance, handling, fuel economy, and safety.

The first application of Mazda’s new, high-efficiency SKYACTIV-G gasoline engine combined with SKYACTIV transmissions will debut in the 2012 Mazda3 later this fall. In addition to new powertrain components, the new Mazda3 will boast a refined interior and exterior design and a host of new safety features.

The MINIAGI Concept, which was the first vehicle to showcase SKYACTIV tech, will also be on display in New York. The crossover also features Mazda’s new KODO (“Soul of Motion”) design language and is the inspiration for an upcoming production model.

Stay tuned for more details on these vehicles and SKYACTIV components from the NYIAS later this month.
