The recently updated Mazda6 is larger and more stylish than its predecessor. In addition to growing in size to compete directly with segment leaders such as the Honda Accord and the Toyota Camry, the latest generation Mazda6 is more sophisticated and even more sporty than before. Although it grew larger (and heavier) the 6 is still a blast to drive, which remains the sedan’s greatest asset.
Inside and out, the Mazda6 follows the same design philosophy found in other late model Mazdas. Recently, Mazda appears to have re-embraced its “zoom-zoom” character and sporty heritage, and the styling of the Mazda6 easily reflects that thanks to the car’s voluptuous curves and bold accents. Sitting next to a demur Toyota Camry, the Mazda6 immediately gives the impression of fun.
Under the hood of the standard Mazda6 is a 2.5-liter four cylinder engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission. This unit produces 170 horsepower and should provide ample power. Mazda dealers Manchester says if you’re looking to take full advantage of Mazda’s sporty handling, you may want to increase the power with the V6. With 272 horsepower, the 3.7-liter V6 is a perfect compliment to the car’s crisp handling to ultimately make for an entertaining commute.
The Mazda6 may not be the most luxurious sedan in this segment, nor the most fuel-efficient. But those visiting Wellesley Mazda contest that the Mazda6 is a family sedan that offers more than just practicality; it provides actual driving enjoyment thanks to excellent handling, steering, and overall performance.
