At the upcoming Australian International Motor Show, Mazda will be showing off a BT-50 pickup, which the Japanese automaker dubs an “active lifestyle vehicle.”

The new pickup is expected to be immediately recognizable as a Mazda product, unlike the now decreased B-Series pickup, which was little more than a re-badged Ford Ranger.

Unlike other the debut of other pickups, that promise rugged capabilities, the BT-50 is intended for a diverse range of consumers, including “families, workers, and pleasure-seekers,” and anyone with an active lifestyle.

From the initial renderings, the BT-50 certainly looks like it will be a stylish offering that will no doubt mark a “new direction in the compact pickup truck market,” but unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be destined for the U.S. market any time soon.
