Mazda has been refining its all-new SKYACTIV engines and transmissions, and we’ll finally get to see the fruits of their labor this fall. The updated 2012 Mazda3 will receive Mazda’s new SKYACTIV-G gasoline engine and SKYACTIV-Drive automatic transmission when it goes on sale.

Connecticut Mazda Dealers say that Mazda’s SKYACTIV technology includes new gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions and vehicle architectures. These technologies have been developed to improve fuel efficiency by 30 percent by 2015. To achieve this goal, SKYACTIV tech will effectively improve the efficiency of internal combustion core technologies in association with vehicle weight reduction. According to Maryland Mazda dealers, Mazda plans to introduce other technologies in the future, such as idle-stop, regenerative braking and hybrid systems, to further improve fuel efficiency and reduce CO2 emissions.
