by Mazda in the News on January 25, 2010

Sportiness is the eye key ingredient in all Mazda vehicles. But when it comes to large, seven passenger SUVs, sportiness is sometimes a bit elusive. Not so with the 2010 Mazda CX-9, an SUV that manages to haul ample passengers and cargo within a vehicles that’s as fun to drive as it looks.

The 2010 Mazda CX-9 is perhaps one of the best looking SUVs in its class, and it easily conveys its playful driving dynamics. With an angular front fascia and sleek lines, the 2010 CX-9 possess the looks the part of a Zoom-Zoom-infused model, but luckily the CX-9 doesn’t compromise when it’s time to get behind the wheel. On the road this crossover boasts ample power, albeit only average fuel economy. Freeway merging and passing is extremely easy thanks to its 273 horsepower 3.7-liter V6 engine. And best of all, the CX-9 doesn’t deliver the uncomfortable body roll experienced in larger truck-based SUVs.

Interior accommodations are excellent, and drivers will immediately notice that the Mazda CX-9 not only offers style, but it also provides comfort and technology. Controls throughout the dash and center console are easy to use and decipher and help make this SUV pleasant to drive, even despite its relatively large size. Behind the wheel, the CX-9 doesn’t feel nearly as large as it is, which makes it very comfortable while driving around town.

There are plenty of competitors to choose from in this segment, but few SUVs deliver the goods. The Mazda CX-9 excels in many areas, and won’t require drivers to sacrifice much while delivering the interior room as well as driving fun.
